Down Under to Down Under
Mixed media on canvas
93 × 123 cm, 2026
From the series Shapes of Elsewhere
Inspired by my recent journey through Texas, Down Under to Down Under reflects the unexpected connections we make while far from home. Travelling to a place so different from Australia brought moments of excitement, curiosity, and quiet reflection. Familiar feelings resurfaced in unfamiliar landscapes, reminding me that belonging is something we carry within us rather than a place we arrive at.
Layered forms, earthy tones, and flowing lines weave together fragments of memory, movement, and encounters along the way. As part of my Shapes of Elsewhere series, this work explores how travel reshapes our understanding of home, leaving traces of every place we visit.
