Inspired by quiet walks along Steele Creek near my place, Walking by Steele Creek I reflects the restorative rhythm of nature and the simple act of slowing down. Vertical forms recall the silhouettes of native trees, while layered colours evoke shifting light, textured bark and glimpses of sky. The composition balances movement with stillness, inviting a moment of pause and reflection.
Part of my Shapes of Elsewhere series, this work explores how familiar landscapes become part of our emotional memory. It is a meditation on belonging—not through grand destinations, but through the everyday places we return to that quietly shape who we are.
