Inspired by wandering through the historic streets of Gastown, Vancouver, See You in Gastown reflects the emotional traces left by travel and unexpected encounters. Created with layers of mixed media, colour and texture, the composition builds a dynamic visual narrative of mixed emotions—curiosity, nostalgia, excitement and quiet reflection. The abstract forms suggest streets, architecture and fleeting moments, inviting viewers to find their own memories within the landscape.
Part of my Shapes of Elsewhere series, this work explores how unfamiliar places gradually become part of our personal story, shaping our sense of belonging long after the journey has ended.
