Shapes of Elsewhere is a contemporary abstract painting series exploring identity, belonging, and the emotional landscapes we carry within us. Inspired by my experience of living between Korean and Australian cultures, these paintings reflect the spaces between memory and the present, familiarity and the unknown. Working intuitively with colour, abstract forms, and layered surfaces, I follow feeling before words, allowing each painting to unfold naturally. Rather than offering fixed meanings, Shapes of Elsewhere invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own sense of connection—reminding us that belonging is not a place we arrive at, but something we continue to shape throughout our lives.
